This paper looks at the different factors influencing leadership styles between first and second generation local political leaders in eight municipalities of Antique (Belison, Barbaza, Bugasong, Hamtic, Patnongon, San Jose, Sibalom and Tibiao) from 2010. By examining the results from the survey conducted, the researchers were able to identify the differences of leadership styles employed by these leaders and the subcategory on generational differences they belong to. Most of the leaders belong to the first generation, have held elective office previously and have no family members also in politics. Majority of the local political leaders in the selected municipalities rate themselves as charismatic type of leaders. The self-rating is consistent with those of their subordinates suggesting strong parallels in the depiction of leadership.
