Abstract
This study examined the relationship among the factors influencing the academic success of college students namely: student’s perception of effective teacher interpersonal behavior and teaching method. A survey was done on 155 respondents using three instruments to measure the variables. The data gathered were analyzed using Multiple Regression. Results showed that students perceived the cooperative-type of teacher as more effective than the dominant-type. It was found that both subscale values of student’s perception of effective teacher interpersonal behavior namely dominance and cooperation were predictive of student’s academic success. Also, students perceived the student-centered method of teaching as more effective than the teacher-centered method. Furthermore, it was revealed that only the student-centered method was predictive of student’s academic success.
